Fountain Valley Senior Center
What problem does Fountain Valley Senior Center solve?
Older adults in southern and eastern El Paso County face isolation, limited transportation options, and difficulty accessing essential services. Many seniors live alone without reliable ways to get to medical appointments, grocery stores, or social activities. Without a dedicated gathering place and support system, they risk declining health, loneliness, and loss of independence.
Who benefits from their work?
Adults age 60 and older and individuals with disabilities living in Fountain, Widefield, Security, Stratmoor Valley, Stratmoor Hills, Fort Carson, Falcon, Ellicott, Peyton, Calhan, and surrounding southern and eastern El Paso County communities. Caregivers and family members who need reliable support services for their loved ones.
What makes their approach unique?
Established in 1975 and celebrating 50 years of service, the Fountain Valley Senior Center is far more than a gathering place — it's a lifeline for the senior community. They provide wheelchair-accessible transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores, and social activities across southern El Paso County and beyond. Daily lunches are served through a partnership with Silver Key, and the center hosts fitness programs including seated yoga, Tai Chi, and line dancing. From game days and bingo to day trips and the Harmonizers singing group, they keep seniors connected, active, and engaged. The onsite Kittie Paster Thrift Shoppe and economic assistance referrals help stretch fixed incomes further.

We're more than just a senior center. We provide wheelchair-accessible transportation so our members can get to medical appointments, the grocery store, and social activities — because nobody should lose their independence just because they can't drive anymore. Our Silver Key lunch program serves a hot meal every weekday, and our Rural Area Meal Program delivers shelf-stable meals to homebound seniors who might otherwise go without.
But what really makes this place special is the community inside these walls. On any given day you'll find our members playing cards, practicing Tai Chi or seated yoga, singing with the Harmonizers, or heading out on a day trip together. Our Kittie Paster Thrift Shoppe keeps things affordable, and our staff — including Emmett, our beloved furry team member — makes sure everyone feels welcome the moment they walk through the door.
We're located right here in Fountain at 5745 Southmoor Drive, open Monday through Friday, and we'd love to meet you. Whether you're a senior looking for connection, a caregiver who needs support, or a community member who wants to volunteer, there's a place for you here.
