Shelters are full, waitlists are long, and the bureaucratic process to access help can feel impossible for someone sleeping outside tonight.

Men, women, and families living on the streets of Orange County — particularly in the Anaheim, Fullerton, and Santa Ana areas. The organization meets people exactly where they are, literally on the sidewalk, and works with anyone ready to take a step toward stability regardless of their background or circumstances.
What makes their approach unique?
This isn't a drop-off-a-sandwich operation. Charity on Wheels runs consistent weekly outreach events multiple days a week — Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays — building ongoing relationships with unsheltered individuals rather than one-time encounters. The team operates with almost no paid staff, runs entirely without government funding, and averages getting one to two people or families off the street every single month. That's not a stat on a grant application — that's real people moving into housing because someone kept showing up.
What does a donation accomplish?
Every dollar goes directly toward street-level outreach and getting people housed. Because the organization receives no government grants and operates with an almost entirely volunteer workforce, donations cover the tangible costs of transitional support — things like first month's rent deposits, transportation to appointments, basic supplies, and the operational costs of running weekly outreach events three days a week across multiple cities.

Our mission is rooted in Matthew 25 — the idea that when you care for someone who's hungry, or sick, or sleeping on concrete, you're doing something that matters on a level most people never think about. We didn't start with a big budget or a building full of staff. We started with a truck, some supplies, and a commitment to show up consistently. That consistency is everything. When you see the same person on the same corner week after week and you keep coming back, eventually they trust you enough to say "okay, I'm ready for help." That's when the real work begins.
Today we run outreach events three days a week across Anaheim, Fullerton, and Santa Ana. We don't take a dime of government money, and almost everyone on our team is a volunteer. That's not a limitation — it's by design. It means we can move fast, stay flexible, and put every dollar where it actually matters: getting people off the street. On average, we help one to two individuals or families transition into housing every month. Some of those people had been living outside for years before anyone offered them a real path forward.
