Another Life Foundation
What problem does Another Life Foundation solve?
Mental illness and suicidal behaviors disproportionately affect BIPOC and underserved communities, yet culturally responsive mental health resources remain scarce. Stigma prevents many individuals — particularly Black men and youth — from seeking help. Without targeted outreach, education, and accessible services, people in crisis fall through the cracks of a system that wasn't designed with them in mind.
Who benefits from their work?
Individuals living with mental illness in the Colorado Springs area, particularly within BIPOC and underserved communities. Black men and youth served through dedicated programs like The Black Men's Project and The Black Youth Project. Families and community members seeking mental health education, counseling, and crisis support. Low-income individuals who need affordable tax preparation and financial stability assistance.
What makes their approach unique?
Founded in 2004, Another Life Foundation takes a holistic approach to mental wellness — addressing not just the clinical side but the social and economic factors that contribute to poor mental health. Their signature programs include The Black Men's Project, which has reached over 500 community members, and The Black Youth Project serving 50+ young people. The Counseling Corner provides accessible therapy, while the Mental Health is Wealth initiative drives public awareness. They also offer affordable tax preparation and financial stability programs, recognizing that economic stress is a major driver of mental health crises. Their Another Life Collective boutique shop funds programming through candle and gift set sales.
What does a donation accomplish?
$25 supports a youth participant in The Black Youth Project | $50 funds a counseling session through the Counseling Corner | $100 sponsors a community mental health awareness event | $250 provides a month of programming for The Black Men's Project
Where do they serve?
Colorado Springs and El Paso County, Colorado, with a focus on BIPOC and underserved communities.
We believe that mental health is wealth. That's more than a slogan for us — it's the foundation of everything we do. Our programs address the full spectrum of what it takes to live a mentally healthy life, from direct counseling through our Counseling Corner to community education through our speakers' bureau and public awareness campaigns.
The Black Men's Project has reached more than 500 community members, creating safe spaces for Black men to discuss mental health openly and without stigma. The Black Youth Project serves young people who need culturally responsive support and mentorship. And because we know that financial stress is one of the biggest drivers of mental health crises, we offer affordable tax preparation services and financial stability programs to help our community build economic resilience.
Our newest initiative, Another Life Collective, is a purpose-driven boutique gift shop featuring calming candles, meaningful gift sets, and self-care items. Every purchase directly supports our mental wellness programming and community healing work.
We're located at 5050 Edison Avenue, Suite 217, in Colorado Springs. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. You are not alone, and another life is possible.
